New beginnings.

Howdy!
In this issue: we got married!
Second Beginnings
On May 3rd, Amy and I are got married in Roswell. We were lucky to bring together family who have never met before and friends who would probably hang out even if we weren’t there.
It was a perfect day and our relationship has a newness to it that I’m looking forward to most. I’m loving this being the start of something new, instead of a renewal of what is old.
Now today we’re headed to Italy, starting in Milan and Lake Como then whatever small towns we stumble upon.
What Else (Other than a ~100 Person Wedding) is Taking Up My Attention
I really enjoyed this post from Dustin highlighting what he read from Adam Grant on making drafts.
Not only do we need to be open to take feedback and improve on our drafts, but just focus on getting out that first draft and then tweaking down. So just start, then working on the drafts.
We’ve always been big Nathan Fielder fans. The depths he goes to make topics both relevant and funny are perfect for someone like me who enjoys dry humor paired with something I can actually learn.
The Rehearsal is his second season on HBO Max and it almost leans more on the relevant than funny side throughout. Only two episodes have dropped so you’re not far behind. Also nice they’re only like 40 minutes each.
📦 Tariffs
I’ve seen the implications of tariffs closely in a few different businesses I am closer to, couple examples are TRMNL and Shirttail Creek Farm.
TRMNL: buying components internationally = increase in cost and drop in bottom line
Shirttail Creek Farm: partner costs are increasing which is passed down to farmers and ultimately the consumer
I have no saucy take here, just interesting seeing these macro decisions have immediate effects on the micro.
Grandma’s Corner
Grandma H wants you to snooze. One of the things I’m most excited for in Italy is shutting off. Airplane mode the whole time, no social media, get wifi whenever but we don’t really need it. If you look close in the picture, Grandma is the one in the hat :)

The End
Arrivederci, ci vediamo a giugno!
